The Components of Alcohol Treatment

With all the options available in recovery today, it is often overwhelming to try and figure out the best solution for yourself or a loved one. If a residential or inpatient alcohol treatment is for you then you will need to find one that provides a minimum of the following:

  • Professionally trained staff on-site and on-call including therapists, psychiatrists, and medical professionals
  • A detox program
  • Individualized treatment plans
  • Group therapy and individual therapy sessions
  • Integrated relapse prevention treatment
  • Healthy meals and an exercise program
  • Continued care and support upon return home

Alcohol Treatment at The Canyon

Alcohol treatment at The Canyon provides all the services listed above and more. The Canyon offers alcohol treatment services that treat the whole person, specializing in those who have issues with substance abuse as well as other problems including mental and emotional issues and psychiatric disorders. Such individuals are considered dual diagnosis clients and may find it difficult to find a facility that can treat both aspects of their problem. One cannot properly recover with alcohol treatment alone if part of the problem is an enduring depression, eating disorder, bipolar disorder or other problem that may often be part of the reason for excessive alcohol and drug use.

Threaded throughout alcohol treatment are a number of therapeutic activities and group sessions that focus on mental, spiritual and physical well being.

Individualized Alcohol Treatment at The Canyon

The Canyon's alcohol treatment program is clinically based and thorough from start to finish. It begins with a thorough admission process which allows you or your loved one to ease into the program while The Canyon's medical and therapeutic staff learn about the needs that will require specific attention that may include medical prescriptions and focus in individual therapy.

During the admission process, you or your loved one will develop an individualized treatment plan together with a Master's level therapist. Each week during alcohol treatment, this plan will be reviewed and reevaluated to make sure that everything is progressing smoothly and making any necessary changes to accommodate changing goals and new discoveries. Individual therapy also occurs weekly, with an increase in sessions if deemed appropriate by The Canyon's staff.

Going Home: Continued Care After Alcohol Treatment

Our staff is committed to making sure that relapse prevention and the skills to fight the urge to drink in stressful situations are a big part of alcohol treatment. You are not alone once you leave our facility. Our Aftercare Management program is firmly in place to assist graduates of our program once they are back out in the world. Both in person and over the phone, the Aftercare Case Manager is available to assist with the implementation of skills learned during alcohol rehabilitation, ongoing medication management, outpatient treatment, and assistance finding local 12-step meetings.
