Sending your teen to a California alcohol rehab is an emotional process. It's difficult for them to accept help from you when they see it as a punishment and it's difficult for you to make them do something they don't want to do even though you know it's not only the best thing for them but a medical necessity. Remember that you have two objectives in mind: find the best California alcohol rehab for your teen and then get him or her there.

California Alcohol Rehab and Detox for Your Teen

Depending upon how long your teen has been drinking, he or she may be physically dependent upon the drug and require an Alcohol detox. Many California alcohol rehabs offer alcohol detox as part of their program, but not all of them have the medical facilities to accommodate those who need it. Chances are, if your teen is struggling with alcohol abuse and addiction, the two of you are likely not communicating very well. Whenever alcohol is a factor, relationships suffer and the already tenuous relationship between teenager and parent is no different. Do not blame yourself and do not doubt yourself. Your child will try and tell you that you are blowing everything out of proportion, that he or she is just fine, that everyone is doing it and it's no big deal. But you know your teen. If he or she is skipping school, has stopped hanging out with friends who don't drink, if her grades are slipping or he's no longer participating in extracurricular activities, if he or she always appears to be under the influence or staying out all night and you know that alcohol is the reason, then alcohol rehab is a necessity and an intervention to communicate that fact may be your next step.
