An alcohol detox program is a necessary treatment for the physical dependence of the body on alcohol. Should you suddenly stop drinking, your body may react badly, causing you to experience withdrawal symptoms. These can be dangerous, even fatal if other medical conditions are present, and if a heart issue caused by alcoholism has until this point gone undetected, this is exactly when it would appear.

A California alcohol rehab dedicated to detox only will last as few as three days and rarely longer than a week. The idea is to help you stop drinking and monitor you medically as you go through the worst of the withdrawal symptoms, then send you on your way.
