Create a list of who should be present and assemble them once before the actual event so that everyone can ask questions, have time to prepare what they will say and to determine who will speak first and so on. Remember that the goal of an intervention is that your employee will enter drug detox immediately, so end the intervention itself with a reminder that he or she will lose their employment if they opt out of drug detox. It's not easy to place this ultimatum on anyone, but it is far kinder than simply firing them for poor performance due to drug addiction.
