Seeking Drug Rehab for Your Employees
Coming to terms with an employee's drug addiction is no simple process. Occasional drug use may not raise any red flags but when you see performance dropping, find paraphernalia in the office, or notice an inordinate number of sick days, it becomes clear that recreational use has turned into addiction. Training is not inexpensive and losing your employee despite their drug addiction issues can be more costly than getting them the help that they need through drug rehab.
At The Canyon, we can help you help your employees with a comprehensive, efficient drug rehab here in the Santa Monica Mountains outside of Beverly Hills, California.
Seeking Drug Rehab for Your Employees: Outpatient or Inpatient
Your first decision is whether or not your employee needs inpatient our outpatient treatment. Outpatient treatment will allow them to have limited connection with the office while they get the help they need, but it also means that they will be more open to temptation and triggers to use. Inpatient treatment will allow them some more isolation from the threat of relapse but will also keep them from communicating with work and clients for a time. In most cases, inpatient drug rehab is recommended whether or not the employee has undergone treatment in the past but especially if he or she has tried and failed to quit alone.
Seeking Drug Rehab for Your Employees: Alternative or Traditional
There are different types of drug rehabs available to you and your employee and each has its own philosophy. Traditional drug rehabs generally depend upon the 12 steps of recovery and behavioral modification therapy. Alternative drug rehabs incorporate experimental therapies in various stages of evidence of efficacy. Others are based on a specific religion or cater to certain cultural beliefs, drugs of addiction or genders. Finding the right drug rehab for your employee will depend upon the specifics of his or her addiction, lifestyle, goals for treatment and the presence of co-occurring disorders, if any.
Seeking Drug Rehab for Your Employees: Aftercare or Sober Living
When inpatient or outpatient treatment is complete, you have options as to how you would like to pursue the goal of relapse prevention. Aftercare usually comes in the form of check-ins either by phone if your employee lives far away from the drug rehab or in person if location permits. Sober living facilities that maintain the safety and security of inpatient treatment without the intensity of schedule are also available.
