Dr. Jim Gagné completed medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and finished his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, NY and at Kaiser in Santa Clara, California. After residency Dr. Gagné joined the UCLA Pain Control Unit as Clinic Medical Director. In 1982, he began practicing internal medicine at HCMG, Inc., a medical group in Glendale, California. In 1988 he opened a private practice and was Medical Director of Glendale Adventist Drug and Alcohol Services. In 1998 he became Physician in Charge of the Department of Addiction Medicine at Kaiser, followed by a position as Medical Director of the Care Center Rehabilitation & Pain Management program in Encino, California. In 2002, Dr. Gagné joined the Verdugo Internal Medicine group. Dr. Gagné has helped several thousand patients detox from drugs and alcohol and is particularly interested in the relationship between illness and emotion, and how spirituality can aid healing.
