Jim Gagne, MD

Dr. Jim Gagne graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University and completed medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, both in New York City. He completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, NY and at Kaiser in Santa Clara, California. Dr. Gagne then joined the UCLA Pain Control Unit as Clinic Medical Director. Five years later he began practicing internal medicine in Glendale, California. In 1988 he became Medical Director of Glendale Adventist Drug and Alcohol Services. In 1998 he became Physician in Charge of the Department of Addiction Medicine at Kaiser, followed by a position as Medical Director of the Care Center Rehabilitation & Pain Management program in Encino, California. In 2002, Dr. Gagne joined the Verdugo Internal Medicine group.
Dr. Gagne has helped several thousand patients detox from drugs and alcohol and is particularly interested in the relationship between illness and emotion, and how spirituality can aid healing. He is board certified in the fields of internal medicine, pain medicine, and addiction medicine.
