Lauren Wolff, M.A., LMFT
Primary Therapist
Lauren Wolff began her career interning at LA SHANTI in Hollywood with the gay and lesbian dual diagnosed population. Shortly thereafter, she began a job at the Neuropsychiatric Institute at UCLA working in schizophrenia research. It was her duty to help newly diagnosed schizophrenic clients to reenter into education and the work force. After her work at UCLA, she took on a program directorship at Alternatives in Glendale where she was responsible for a 35 bed residential treatment center and two sober living facilities for LGBT clients. Before coming to The Canyon, she was a program director and primary therapist at Milestones Ranch Malibu, which is a dual diagnosis treatment center under the brilliant supervision and guidance of Dr. Seth Kadish.
She has also worked as a travel agent, nursery school teacher, high school teacher, and guidance counselor.
She is in recovery for 10 years and finds that working with people as they become sober and overcome their personal struggles is not only fulfilling but grounding. She loves the learning that takes place and has the pleasure of getting to know each individual as they work together toward a common goal. She tries to bring humor whenever possible. Laughter is healing.
