What Parents Need to Know About Club Drugs

Raising children in today's world is a challenging and rewarding exercise. Sometimes it's frustrating; sometimes it's incredibly fun. Sometimes, though, it's hard to stay in touch with some of the issues teens face in today's modern world, such as drug use and abuse. We need to stay in informed, though, so that we can help provide guidance and instruction to our children to help them. There are many drugs that have become popular with the teen population today. Drugs like Ecstasy, GHB and LSD (known, as a group, as "Club Drugs") are examples of the drugs that have pervaded our culture and pose serious risks to our children. To help protect them, it's important that parents know about these drugs.

If your child is suffering from drug addiction or you think they might be addicted to drugs, don't wait; pick up the phone today and call The Canyon. We can help.

Ecstasy costs about $25 per pill, and a pack of them usually comes in a blister pack, and sells for anywhere from $200 to $300. Ecstasy's effects on the body can last for several hours and start minutes after the pill is swallowed. Effects include increased body temperature (often to dangerous levels), aches and pains in the muscles or joints, increased pulse and respiration and the possibility for brain damage.
