Admission Criteria
The core of the Healing Life Program is to help you develop a positive relationship with yourself. Through a variety of traditional and non-traditional therapies and experiences, you will have the opportunity to fully address all of you mental health, addiction and emotional issues.
The Canyon specializes in providing treatment to individuals with simultaneous occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders; otherwise known as co-occurring disorders. Chemical abuse disorders and mental health disorders can be viewed as occurring along a continuum from mild to severe. The Canyon treats disorders that fall along the entire continuum. However, we are unable to accommodate individuals that are actively suicidal and homicidal which pose an immediate risk to self or others. As a brief guide to determining whether The Canyon will be the best fit for you or a loved one, we have placed our exclusion criteria below. We have done this for the purpose of brevity. The fact is our inclusion criteria is vast and it is more convenient for potential consumers and family members to read the below list of exclusion criteria:
- Exhibits suicidal, homicidal, or acute mood symptoms that would be served by a more intensive level of care.
- The individual does not consent to treatment.
- A less restrictive treatment is available, in which, the client can be safely provided treatment.
- The individual has medical conditions or impairments that would prevent the utilization of services.
- Lacks the physical ability to navigate the environment to care for his/her personal needs.
- Medical detoxification above the level of care that the Canyon provides is warranted.
